Packing list for Workshop

For over 50 years Habonim Dror North America (HDNA) has been running Workshop, a 10 month Kibbutz and Irbutz (urban kibbutz) based work/study program for high school graduates, pre-university/college. Workshop is the longest running Israel program for North American youth. In September of 2009, HDNA will send its 59th Workshop to Israel!

The central goals of Workshop are for the participants to:

  • Actively participate in a co-operative community and develop a strong collective framework
  • Gain knowledge about the history and current state of the kibbutz movement
  • Directly contribute to the development of peace and social justice in Israel
  • Explore and become knowledgeable about the geography and history of Israel
  • Develop strong voices of progressive Zionism
  • Improve Hebrew skills in the areas of speaking, reading and writing
  • Acquire the knowledge and experience to become effective counselors (madrichim) in the movement
