GOALS

Our main goal is to bring a Progressive Zionist message and infrastructure to Campuses and local communities. This will be achieved through:
• Creating communities of activists on campuses and local areas: By activating our graduates on campuses and reaching out to like-minded students, we will create a nationwide network of community leaders, to be an effective voice for the Zionist Left.
• Building frameworks for actualizing Progressive Zionist Ideology: It is extremely important to the success of this coalition that these communities are not limited to academic pursuit but include on the ground activism and other forms of community oriented projects that promote the ideals of the Zionist left and connect this network to Israel.
• Providing support and educational resources to activist communities: Through resource books, a central office, professionally organized campus tours, programming, and conventions, we will provide an excellent support system, a forum for sharing ideas, and a community which the campus leaders can turn to.

STATEMENT OF PRINCIPLES

The Union of Progressive Zionists believes that it is our duty to create a new vision for Israel. The Jewish tradition is rooted in the collective strength of critical, engaged, and active leaders within our community. As campus activists we are committed to affecting real change on the ground in Israel as well as raising awareness in the Diaspora of a positive, progressive Zionist vision.
This vision is based on the following principles:
• A just and peaceful resolution to the Arab-Israeli conflict.
• A two state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, recognizing the rights of self-determination for both peoples.
• An end to Israel's occupation of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
• Social and economic justice for all citizens of Israel regardless of ethnicity, sex, religion, or sexual orientation.
• The need for Israel to recognize all expressions of religion including secular and cultural practices.
• A commitment to exploring frameworks for communal living both in North America and in Israel.
